Meet the Administration
Principal Pam Virden
I am beyond proud to be the principal of Kyffin Elementary. This is my first year as the Kyffin principal, my second year at Kyffin, my 6th year in Jeffco public schools, my 11th year as a school leader and my 24th year as an educator. I am also a long-time Jeffco parent with a 17-year-old son at Arvada West HS. My experience in education spans from preschool through the college level, and I have taught and led in many different communities along the Colorado front range and overseas. The care and dedication of the Kyffin staff are above any that I have experienced in my years in education. Every teacher and staff member at Kyffin has a love for learning and believes in our students. Combined with our strong family involvement and partnership, I can truly say that our school is among the best in Jeffco. It is an honor to represent such a caring and engaged Kyffin school community.
Our theme this year is “You Belong at Kyffin”. This theme represents our commitment to knowing each student by name, strength, and need, and our belief that every student deserves to feel included and safe in our school community. We also continue to educate the whole child: balancing academic rigor and social emotional learning and wellness at every grade level.
I am committed to our continued academic excellence and maintaining our strong and supportive community at Kyffin. Please consider joining our PTA, School Accountability Committee (SAC) or volunteering in the classroom. Your voice and collaboration are important to Kyffin and I encourage you to contact me with any questions or thoughts about our continual school improvement.
In Partnership,
Pamela Virden
Principal Assistant Principal
I am honored to be the assistant principal of Kyffin Elementary. I began my journey in education as a para right here 18 years ago. I wanted to make a positive impact in society, and I knew that being an educator would allow me this opportunity. I started as a substitute and then teacher. I taught for over 11 years and loved working with students and preparing them for the future.
While a classroom teacher, I obtained my administration degree from the CSU Global Campus and my administrative certification. I developed my leadership capacity and was fortunate to become an Assistant Principal at Pomona High School for the last 4 years. Now I am very excited to be back where it all started.
